How to reserve how vacation rentals

Reservations

Reservation is done is 3 easy steps:

Please make sure that you mention the name of the apartment(s) you are interested in. Indicate your dates of stay, the number of people coming or any special requirements.

Once we receive your booking inquiry, we will inform you within 24 hours about the availability of the apartment you have selected. We will make alternative suggestions should the one you have chosen isn't free. If you do not receive a response within this time please contact us a second time (email may have gotten lost in Cyberspace).

Once you have agreed on a rental, we will forward you a Rent Proposal via email. This proposal will be outlining the information pertinent to the booking procedures and payment requirements.

The rental of the apartment will be quoted to you in Euros. However, payment can be made in any currency for the equivalent sum (small currency conversion charges may apply).

When booking accommodation, guests are also required to sign the terms and conditions.
By sending your payment, you confirm your formal acceptance of compliance to the renting conditions described in the terms and conditions.

Payment of Reservation fee:

The rent proposal will indicate the amount requirement for reservation. It usually is about 15%. However, some owners (very few) may put this reservation payment higher. So on top of paying 15% reservation fee which correspond to our Agency fee, the owner will require an additional reservation deposit to be sent directly to him to complete the booking process. This amount is of course deduced from the rental balance payment. These deposits are non-refundable in case of cancellation.

Please notify us of the your preferred method of payment before proceeding.

Credit Card payment:
We are very happy to offer you a new and simple way to pay via Credit Card through our Paypal Merchant's account. You do not need to be a member of Paypal. This is exactly like any virutal credit card terminal

Electronic Wire transfers:
If choosing this payment method, our account details will be forwarded to you. A 10 euros fee is applicable for cashing your wire payment, please include it in your wire.
Sending and reception fees are at the client's charge, please notify your bank that you will cover these fees. (For payment from Australia or South Africa, additional charges may apply at reception).

Personal Checks:
Only CERTIFIED checks are accepted. Your check should be stamped by your bank to have the funds secured. There is a 10 euros fee for non UK checks. Please add this charge to your payment. Personal Uk checks are accepted at no charge.

Money Orders/Postal Orders/Bank drafts/Cashier checks/Official checks:
Please make to CHARMING HIDEAWAYS LTD. Drawn in sterling pounds for the exact amount required on the Rent proposal.

Travelers checks:
Made to CHARMING HIDEAWAYS LTD. Drawn in sterling pounds for the exact amount required on the Rent proposal.

Payment should be sent priority mail or courier delivery to make sure it arrives safely and rapidly. No registered letters please, London post delays the delivery of these letters.


Once we have received your reservation deposit, the booking will be secured on our calendar and the owner will be immediately notified. A Booking Confirmation will also be forwarded to you with detailed information about the owner and the apartment.

Please contact the owner immediately with your flight details and arrival time. He is responsible for your greeting at the apartment and this information is essential to him.

On your day of arrival, the owner or his representative will be there to greet you with a smile, check you in your apartment and give you the keys. He will also indicate any pertinent information concerning the use of the apartment's appliances and answer any of your questions concerning the area.

Check-in takes place at 14h00. In the case that there are no previous customer leaving that day, you may be able to check-in a little earlier. This is to be arranged directly with the owner.

As an indication, allow 1:30 to 2:00 hours between landing, customs clearance, luggage pickup, public transportation or taxi to Paris before you get to the apartment. If your plane is delayed, do not worry, the owner has the possibility to check its status in real time by phone or over the Internet and will be at the apartment right on time. If your luggage or yourself are delayed at the airport it is essential to contact the owner to let him know. Failure to do so may result in no one present to greet you at the apartment when you arrive.

The rental balance payment and the security deposit shall be paid when arriving at the your vacation rental in cash or, if previously agreed with the owner, with Travelers Checks in EUROS. Any payment arrangements must be confirmed with the owner prior to departure. Sorry, the owners do not accept credit cards. Some owner may accept a security deposit in the form of a personal check for the equivalent in your own currency. This is at owner's discretion and must be arranged before departure.

IMPORTANT: Payment of the rental balance and security deposit is required at check in. The owner may refuse you entry to the premises if you do not pay on arrival. We remind you that unless the apartment and its amenities cannot be use normally, no refund can be offered once you have checked in signed the lease and paid the rental balance. Any refund is at owner's discretion.

The contract is signed between you and the owner. The rental contract period is a set date which cannot be extended without the written consent of the owner. The number of guests may not exceed the amount written on your rental contract. CHARMING HIDEAWAYS LTD has no participation in this rental agreement. We remind you that a visit/inventory of the premises must be made before signing the lease.

Security deposit

The security deposit of a vacation rental is established according to the length of your stay and shall be given to the owner upon check in. As required by French law, the owner will proceed with to a quick inventory/state of the apartment before the lease signature.

If upon checking out, and after completion of the inventory, nothing is reported damaged, lost or broken, the security deposit will be returned to you.

PLEASE NOTE that in some cases it could be forwarded back to you within the week of your return home through the same means have paid it. If it is a check, it will be mailed back to you. However, the keyholder is generally present at the time of your departure and hand you back your monies before you leave.

The owner reserves the right to replace or repair any breakage at Tenant's expenses and to deduct the costs from the security deposit accordingly. Breakage, loss or damage may postpone the Security Deposit's refund until after the repairs/replacement have been done.

If the security deposit is insufficient to cover repair/replacement costs, Tenant agrees to pay the additional costs before his departure.
